Wait, what? A new update? So soon after the last one? Why yes, I aim to surprise! I have just published the second Sundae, and I have to say that I have a really good feeling about writing them based on prompt suggestions. It stretches my imagination as well as my writing muscles, for some suggestions are much further away from my comfort zone than others. Like this one; I had to stretch far because I never write about ‘space’. There are a few coming up in the following weeks which have me trembling with fear a bit, but also with excitement to dig in!
On another note, this morning I finally had the courage to tell a friend that the book we were going to write together will not happen in the form we discussed. I am gutted because it was an amazing concept – a novel telling the story of his brilliant numerology theory (which I still say has to be shared with the world!). The love story I was living was supposed to be the centre of this book, but it felt wrong to use my love life for a long time now, ever since I realised that my love story isn’t the fairy tale I initially thought it was. And of course, the male lead turned out to be much less innocent than I depicted him in the first few chapters!
Instead, I am now using that same story, told in a different way, as #PakispanishLover. I’m confident it will be a good read for women in my position at least.
My friend was terribly sweet and understanding and I don’t know what I have done to deserve such kindness. He also told me to enjoy living my love story before concerning myself too much with writing it all down. After all, how can you write something you haven’t lived yet. This is of course a fair point. However, I have lived the story until the end of the book, so one could argue that there’s no reason to not write it now.
It may not be a bad judgement call to finish writing #ManWithDog first.
There you have it, a decision. I’m leaving the story of my love be for the moment. I’m going to indulge myself in the love I’m receiving. And enjoy Life. I’ll give it a fair shot!
